    • #99

Editor's note: Sung by A.Y. [possibly Avrom Yudin], New York City, 1947. Variant Bernshten, song #150; The singer of this nign and all the other melodies without texts from Koydenov (Koydanovo), was born in Baranovits (Baranovichi), bordering White Russia (Belarus). His grandfather was an ardent Hasid of the Koydenov sect

Singer's comments: This is another Koydenov melody which we sang during the third meal on the Sabbath, as we all sat, young and old, around grandfather's table. Later, we went to the prayer house, and it was twilight and getting darker, but we weren't allowed to light the candles yet. The table was a long one and we all sat there singing with deep feeling and exaltation
