עמ' 73
Editor's note: Reb Zalman first learned this niggun in Antwerp in 1939. It is a niggun of Modzhitzer Hasidim, whose founder, Reb Yisrael Taub (1849-1921) made music the major emphasis of Modzhitz Hasidim, and among whom it became an art form. The Modzhitzer Hasidim have numerous marches, dances, and contemplative niggunim. Reb Zalman remembers: They sometimes sang this in Lubavitch [in Brooklyn] also. I remember playing this on my record at a farbrengen [celebratory gathering] at which the Rebbe, Reb Yosef Yitzhak [Schneersohn, the 6th Lubavitcher Rebbe] was present. Unfortunately I was in the back and couldn't see how he was reacting to it. Later, I used to play this niggun on my clarinet at different Lubavitch weddings
