עמ' 49
Editor's note: Reb Zalman calls this upbeat niggun "The Balkan Dance," believing that its origins might be traced back to the Balkan Peninsula of Southeastern Europe, encompassing Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Yugoslavia, Bosnia, and Bulgaria. Reb Zalman first heard this niggun in the Oiseh Hesed shtibel in the 2nd Precint of Vienna known as "Matzah Island" on Simhat Torah, around 1938. On this ocassion he remembers dancing to the niggun for hours with his father and the other Hasidim of the Shtibel
