Editor's note: According to Reb Zalman, there are two basic kinds of niggunim: One is the tish niggun, a slow, more searching niggun, often sung at the Rebbe's 'table.' And then there were others for more happy occasions. So when there was a simhah (joyous occasion), a celebration, calling up the groom, or just regular Shabbes when you were in a good mood, you would sing one of these table bangers
